TCB Restructuring

This isn't holonet news, but I wanted to make it very visible to all.

Just as Star Wars Galaxies has changed over the years, so too has the TCB.  To reflect those changes, over the coming weeks, there will be some new guidelines and rules posted.   What will be immediately obvious is that players will have a bit more freedom to explore and develop stories outside the traditional TCB settings.

Shadowfire has a good number of roleplayers but they lack a central supporting network and defined locations.  The TCB will be tackling those roles.

So fasten your seat belts and be sure to keep your hands and arms inside at all times!

(note, I'm still working with Tanoo to sort out the ability to pin and unpin topics so for now, I'll be relying on the old fashioned /bump to keep these guidelines posts close to the top of the Cantina Forums)

Dramatic Increase In Terrorist Activities

Imperial Advisory from High Inquisitor

Fellow citizens,  This morning, across several planetary systems, rebel terrorists attacked communications arrays and opened fire on imperial troops.  No casualties were reported and our troops quickly put an end to the attacks.  Materials taken from the body of one of the terrorists indicates they have plans to attack many other targets over the next several days.

All citizens are advised to be watchful and report any suspicious activity or behavior to the nearest Imperial troops.

New Pratia Gazette - Sporting News

The first annual Tooke Day Fishing Tournement was a great success with two new records being set!   Angler Dark-Rage landed a hefty striped fish measuring in at 1.03 meters!   For most fish caught during the time limit, the prize went to K'yelar who managed to catch an astounding 20 fish during the tournement!

Ceremonies were kicked off by Boss Nass who took time out from his very busy schedule to wish all hunters and anglers good luck on their adventures.  Unfortunately, no one spotted the elusive Tooke so we should be prepared for the cool weather and rain to continue for several more weeks.

Battle on planet Selas over...... Planet is no more

Planet Selas has been a strong hold of several rebel militias since the Galactic civil war began. The many fuel and for the majority of the war over this planet t material deposits that rittle the large planet has made it an invaluable resource to the rebel and imperial forces that have been fighting over it. While the rebel force had been able to control the war on the planet for years, but around six months ago the empire started relocating some of their forces from around the galaxy to join the fight on Selas after taking note on the supplies the Rebel forces were shipping of the resource heavy planet to other insurgent bands around the galaxy. Almost immeidiatly the imperial army began gaining ground and as expected from the losing rebel forces stories began surfacing about atrocities that were being commited to their people including lies about poisoning food and water supplies, and dismembering fallen rebel soldiers bodies and having them up for display around the planet. No evidence was ever found to support the rebels horror stories (and it is of this reporters opinion that it was only rebel propoganda). But the bloodshed ended yesterday when reportedly the rebel forces detonated several large scale explosive devices in the planets fuel deposits setting off a domino effect around the planet that eventually consumed it in one firey ball until it finally exploded and like a large thermal detonater it destroyed several surrounding planets. No reports as of yet any survivors. We do ask a moment of silence at noon for all the fallen Imperial personel that perished amidst the explosion.

Travel Advisory Effective Immediately

(all TCB characters can determine if they would have heard about this either through cantina gossip or because they monitor the entertainer announcements in their local newsnets.  Just be aware it will be confined to performance areas where you would expect to see a guild representative)

Travel Advisory now in effect for all Guild Performers.

The Guild has received word that one of our performers has been abducted while performing in Bestine and is being held for ransom.  It is believed that one of the kidnappers disguised himself as a new entertainer in order to gain the trust of the performer, whose identity is being withheld pending confirmation.  Until further notice, all performers are advised to travel only with known associates and to request Guild escort to and from shuttles and starports if traveling alone or during late hours.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Bertos Goodner, Guild Liason to Moenia, immediately.

HOMICIDE BRINGS AN ABRUPT END TO THE CELEBRATION

HOMICIDE BRINGS AN ABRUPT END TO THE CELEBRATION
By Mos Entha News staff

Mos Entha, Tatooine -- The most anticipated annual Mos Taike Settlement Day celebration ends in tragedy.  The Mayor of Mos Taike, Gramm Rile, announced the cancellation of the party, following the discovery of a dead body during the firework show.

The Mos Taike Security Force is investigating the homicide of an intergalactic trader, Ooron Paro, whose body was discovered by two unidentified celebration attendees.  The victim suffered one fatal blaster wound in the upper abdomen area.

Mos Taike residents, business owners and tourists from other parts of the galaxy are enraged at the Mayor's decision.

"A whole year's preparation has just gone to the gutter!"  An angry tavern owner later told Mos Entha News.  "Is the Mayor going to compensate our loss?"

The authorities have not identified any suspects at this time.

(OOC: It's up to the players to decide whether they would read this piece of news.  It shouldn't go farther than Mos Entha.)

Military Prisoner Escaped

+++ Incoming Transmission +++

Standard Coding Detected...

Deciphering...

To All Imperial Units

Imperial inmate Treb Kenna, a former Ranger Master Sergeant with our own Imperial Army, escaped from a medium-security prison on Dathomir last week.  Kenna was convicted in a courts-martial a year ago for crimes including the murder of an Imperial Commando Corporal, several counts of aiding and abetting rebel agents, and conspiracy to commit such crimes.  Intelligence analysis of his escape shows signs of Hutt involvement.

A warrant for Kenna's apprehension at all costs has been issued.  All units are advised that Kenna is highly experienced in wilderness survival and sniping, and should be considered armed and highly dangerous.  Kenna was last spotted near the Imperial Outpost on Dantooine, and is believed to be hiding out near his Ranger Lodge in Paradise Lost.  It is believed he will be attempting to contact local Rebel forces, and/or Hutt associates, for assistance.  Kenna may also be attempting to contact members of his previous assignment in Paradise Lost, the Imperial unit code-named BLISS.  However, his current whereabouts cannot be confirmed.

All units are advised to stay on the lookout for Escaped Inmate Treb Kenna, and apprehend him at all costs.  Units are also encouraged to stop and question known Hutt associates.

Pirates foiled in mysterious massacre

The bodies of 12 fugitives were found aboard their class 2 interceptor yesterday.  It is still uncertain what happened to the criminals but sources indicate that they were killed in what appears to be a botched boarding attempt. Of the 12 deceased  11 were wanted by the empire for pirate activities. The bodies of the victims show no signs of physical violence or struggle. Upon autopsy of one of the criminals it was discovered that there was severe brain trauma to at least 2 of the victims but doctors where stumped upon not finding any damage done to the skull of scalp of the victims. All sources are stumped but it is suspected that a biological weapon of somesort was involved, on account of lack of physical evidence. Although there are no known gasious or liquid properties that are capable of causing such effects scientist do not rule it out. The pirates ship was discovered near the outer rim planets and citizens of those planets are urged to keep an eye out for any vehicle that shows signs of forced boarding and to report any suspicious activities to there local Imperial supervisor.
